Acclaimed five-man a cappella group, Ball in the House, performed in the Wemyss Auditorium in Caudill Hall Monday Feb 1st, from 12:15 to -1:30 pm. The "Mouth Band" creates full sounds without the use of instruments.
Hispanic Family Night will be Tuesday Feb.9th, from 5:30-8:30p.m., in the Rochelle Center in the Thingpen Library. The event includes Spanish-speaking campus tours adn Spanish-speaking translators. Families will be wecome and refreshments will be provided.
Feb.10th in the Wemyss Auditorium, two speakers will examine the impact and realities of the first year of Barack Obama's presidency. Michael Eric Dyson will speak at 12:15p.m., and Tim Wise will speak at 7:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Transfer Day will be in the Ramer Building Feb. 11th, from 10:30a.m.-12:30p.m. This event is for currently enrolled students who are interested in transferring to another college after completing their education at Volstate.
College Goals Sunday will be Feb. 14th. The Vol State Financial Aid Office will have a special session in the Wemyss Auditorium from 2-4 p.m. College financial aid offices across the nation will be open to help students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
The Office of Disability Services and Special Adult Programs is in need of tutors for the following subjects: ASTRO 1030; BIOL 1030; CIS 100; SPAN 1010; ACT 101; and ACT 202. Qualified students for this paid postition must hav previously earned an A in the class. Apply in The Office of Disabilities Services located in the Wood Campus Center, 108, or call 230-3472 for more information.
