SGA president: Maytee Vinces

Maytee Vinces is the new SGA (student government association) president.
"We are the voice of the students. We bring activities to the campus and try to improve college experience," said Vinces.
This is Vinces' fourth semester at Volunteer State Community College. She has been a part of SGA for three semesters. She became active in SGA when the Dungeons and Dragons Club needed a representative, and she volunteered to join.
"Once I was there, I didn't really have any idea what was going on. As I learned about it, I became Senior Senator," said Vinces.
Vinces find SGA exciting because of the opportunity to meet new people and to know what's happening around campus.
Vinces was born in Peru, but moved to the United States when she was 10 years old. She is a pre-law major and enjoys school. She loves all types of music, but her favorite is rock. Some of her favorite bands are Paramore, ABBA, and She and Him.
Vinces would like to work for LucasFilm or Square Enix in the future, but ultimately she would like to be a lawyer.
"I'm also a big nerd. I love Star Wars and Harry Potter. I like to sit at home and read. I love video games. On a more serious note, I'm dedicated and hard working," said Vinces.
She is still active in the Dungeons and Dragons Club. It is the largest and most active club on campus, according to Vinces.
"I want to get more students involved (in SGA). It truly gives many wonderful opportunities.
I think if they are more involved, they'd enjoy their experience here more. I would also like to help as many people as we can," said Vinces.
