Have you ever wondered about another culture?
Have you ever been curious about a particular country?
Have you ever wanted to just hop on a plane and escape? See something new and exciting?
Well at Volunteer State Community College, you actually have that chance. Vol State is one of the few community colleges to offer an international study program.
The first thought that may come to some students' heads is the fact that they won't necessarily be on vacation, but taking a class in a different country. Uh, who cares? You will be traveling somewhere where the possibilities are endless. You will be able to expand your knowledge while gaining valuable experience.
You could go to Brazil, China, England, India, Ireland, Greece and other wonderful places. Why would you not go?
It seems that people are always coming up with excuses as to why they cannot experience life.
"I work all the time."
"I don't want to leave my significant other for the summer."
"I have too many obligations."
Blah, blah, blah. If you don't experience things while you are young, when will you get the chance?
The job you have right now, is it what you really want to be doing the rest of your life? What are you making money for? To not enjoy something? Are you really going to be with this significant other forever? And if you are, wouldn't they want you to go and live life? What obligations could keep you from going to South Africa?
If you keep waiting for something to happen to you, it won't. You have to make it happen. Your life is in your hands and your hands only.
When you decide to wake up and open your eyes to this beautiful world, we really hope it isn't too late.
