The Vol State Showstoppers performed the Spring Concert on Friday and Saturday. They were backed up by Vol State's Commercial Music Ensemble.

April 24 and 25, the Wemyss Auditorium was rocked by Volunteer State Community College students. The set list consisted of original songs featured on the new CD the students just released which is now available in the book store. The set list also included cover songs as varied as old jazz standards mixed with Katy Perry tunes. The show was split in to two parts.

The first half of the show featured the Vol State Showstoppers and the second half featured solo acts and singers.

The Vol State Commercial Music Ensemble was on hand for most of the event and played backup for a large part of the show.

The show was the brain child of the students and instructors James Story and Lynn Peterson. After the show on Friday, all of the performers stood together in the auditorium congratulating one another and preparing for Saturday's show. The general consensus was that it would be even better than the Friday show. Everyone seemed to be in high spirits and the auditorium looked like it hadn't seen a day of bad weather, much less the destruction that befell it several years ago. It would seem that it has been a successful year for the music department.
