The book signing took place in six groups of 50 from 3 to 7p.m. They also handed out 100 stand-by tickets for fans that didn't get a ticket in time. After the signing, there was a red carpet premiere for the Hannah Montana movie.
The signing had a specific list of rules that the fans were asked to follow. No posed photography with Miley was allowed, and nothing was allowed to be signed but the book.
The aforementioned rules were held up very strictly, but some fans managed to sneak pictures and CDs to her to be signed and get pictures with her.
"I was more concerned about getting a photo signed than the book itself but I got both," said Volunteer State Community College student Cody Litwiler.
The whole event was very rushed and most people were not as lucky as Litwiler.
"The Miley Cyrus signing was very fast paced," said Miley fan Haley Roberts, "but it was well organized."
"The signing could have been better, they could have not went so fast," said Kirsten Stucki, another Miley fan. "I would have liked to get a picture with her."
"I like meeting people," said Miley as to why she was doing the signing at all, but as rushed as it was, fans were lucky to get so many words out of Miley. Is that meeting people?
"I didn't like how quick they made it happen, but with the premier afterward I can understand," said Litwiler.
"I am sure the little girls who came to the signing were disappointed, because they didn't get to hug her or actually talk to her," said Roberts.
The premiere was very limited access. It was invite only and fans couldn't get close unless they had won a contest from a radio station.
Stucki, who was on the roof of the parking garage said, "I thought it was fun because I have never been to any type of red carpet."
It was definitely a star studded event with many faces familiar to Nashville. Taylor Swift and her band mates, Phil Vassar, Miley's dad Billy Ray Cyrus, her sister Brandi Cyrus, and mother Trish Cyrus, Sara Evans, Martina McBride, Big Kenny (of Big and Rich), Clint Black, Charles Kelly (of Lady Antebellum), and a few of Hollywood's familiar faces Mitchel Musso, and of course, Miley Cyrus.
"The people that are Hollywood, in general, don't usually come to Nasvhille," said Stucki.
The red carpet took place from the fourth floor of the parking garage, to the entrance of the theater. No fans were allowed on the fourth floor at all and as a result the fifth floor and sixth floor were packed with fans overlooking the event below.
Once the movie started inside, the stars seemed to be sneaking out, the ones without their children at least.
First to leave was Brandi Cyrus, and Trish Cyrus, who took pictures with fans before being rushed off by security.
They were followed by Miley, and her six body guards. Miley didn't so much as wave at a fan as she left.
Billy Ray Cyrus left shortly after the rest of his family signing autographs and taking pictures with fans.
The rest of the stars stayed inside for the movie, most of which coming out and signing autographs and taking pictures with fans as they left.
