Volunteer State Community College will host representatives from 19 colleges and universities on Feb. 13.

Transfer Day is scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Hal Reed Ramer Administration Building.

"Transfer Day is an opportunity for our students to meet with representatives from other colleges and universities that they might choose to transfer to after they finish their degree here at Vol State," said Admissions Advisor Connie Bass.

Admissions Director Tim Amyx said an admissions representative from the schools will be on campus.

Colleges taking part in Transfer Day include Austin Peay State University, Cumberland University, Lee College, Middle Tennessee State University, Nossi College of Art, and Western Kentucky University.

"They can find out just what the process is to apply to different schools, what the cost is, information about on campus housing, deadlines and about financial aid," said Bass. "There will also be a representative from Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation that can help with any lottery transfer questions."

Freshman Ty Crowder said he would attend Transfer Day depending on what colleges are there. Crowder said he would like to transfer to Belmont University to major in elementary education and music.

Students can contact the admissions office at 230-3688 for further information.
