Volunteer State Community College is having its annual elementary school art exhibition in the Thigpen Library Gallery. The art was put up on February 18 and will remain until March 9. The elementary school art exhibition is where 23 local schools, whose students are in grades K-6 to create art.
The video seminar that is scheduled to have Dr. Bertice Berry has been changed, she is unable to make it due to the fact that a family emergency that has risen, so the National Society of Leadership and Success has chosen Dion Jordan to replace her. The seminar is scheduled for next Wednesday, March 3, at 2:00 in the carpeted dining room.
Volunteer State Community College will assemble the Chili/Soup for Books fundraiser in the Carpeted Dining Area of the Randy and Lois Woods Campus Center on March 4. The idea for this fundraiser was developed by the Employee Relations Committee to assist Volunteer State faculty and staff members and their dependents.
SGA Forum allows students the opportunity to be a part of the process. Monday, March 29 at 12:30 p.m. in the cafeteria is the Student Government Association Forum. The SGA Forum is a chance for Vol State's student body to come together and ask questions of and share opinions with its leaders.
Dr. Michael Eric Dyson is giving a lecture today, March 1st, in the Wemyss Auditorium at 12:15 p.m, He was scheduled to appear at VSCC February 10th, but had to postpone because of an invitation to the White House, Dr. Dyson is the University Professor of Sociology at Georgetown University, where he teaches Theology, English and African American Studies, He is a popular television pundit, a syndicated radio host (The Michael Eric Dyson Show), and has written sixteen books, "Dr.
