Vol State student plays hockey on national league

By Haley Wallace

Jack Dill, a 19-year-old student at Volunteer State Community College, graduated from Mt. Juliet High School in 2008 and is planning to take a full time job with the Music City Star next year. Dill is undecided on his major, but is sure about one thing, his love of sports. He has played ice hockey for 10 years and currently plays hockey for a state-wide and national league. He spent seven years as forward and three as goal tender. Before getting into hockey, Dill and his three older brothers used to hold "Royal Rumbles" in their backyard. These rumbles were identical to WWE matches except they took place in a backyard.

By Austin Wright

The Fearless Tour 2009 started off with opening acts Gloriana and Kellie Pickler. Pickler started off with her single, which is co-written by Taylor Swift, "Best Days of Your Life". She played about a 30 minute set including the hit singles, "Things That Never Cross a Mans Mind," "Don't You Know Your Beautiful," and finally finishing with her original debut single "Red High Heels." Swift came on stage about 30 minutes later. She opened up in a band uniform, as with the rest of the band, and performed "You Belong With Me."

I received a bunch of puzzled looks except for one guy who is now my boyfriend. I think it was the five minutes that limited my explanation and in fact, I went over the five minutes and the teacher had to cut me off.
