SGA President Carter denies rumors of having an affair

During the Oct. 24 Student Government Association open forum, Christine Bowersox, a Goodlettsville freshman, asked if the administration was investigating SGA President De'Wayne Carter and "rumors that have been circling the campus regarding Mr. Carter and some of the other female staff in his office."

Spring 2008 class schedule available online

The class schedule for Spring 2008 is available online throught the Vol State web site. Steps for accessing the Class Schedule follows: * Go to the Vol State Web Page- www.volstate.edu; * Click on Self Service Banner (SSB); * Click on Class Schedule; * Search by Term, use the pull down box to make your term selection; * Click on submit; * You will see several options available for searching the schedule; * Make your search selection(s) and hit Class Search.

New Gallatin law will affect Vol State's sign

The city of Gallatin's planning commission is trying to pass a law banning the use of animated electronic display signs like the Volunteer State Community College's sign. "Right now, [the proposal] it is just in concept in terms of what the plans are," director of public relations Ken Lovett said.

E2Campus went into effect Monday October 29th. E2Campus is Volunteer State's text message alert system. "269 people have registered as of Monday" said Kenyatta Lovett, Director of Public Relations. Some popular carriers that are compatible with the alerts include AT&T, Nextel, T mobile, Virgin and Verizon.

Books going to benefit inmates were stolen

Textbooks were stolen on Oct. 26 from Volunteer State Community College's student paralegal association book drive. The book drive is set up for the Sumner County Jail so that prisoners will be able to continue their education.
